Absolutely Not Another Reading Test Study Guide by Cindy Cate; Lynda Fernholz; Jeannette ArmstrongCall Number: LB 1762 .C38 2017
This resource integrates responsive literacy practices with reading test practice, resulting in a one of a kind study guide that supports readers on a quest to (re)discover best literacy practices for all children. Based on visual literacy research, the text highlights a cast of whimsical characters within a cultivating (i.e., farming and gardening) narrative. Visual literacy supports children (and adults) as they read and comprehend a wide variety of text. Seriously, a village of writers (19 contributors!) generously shared their expertise in 14 chapters! Contributors include Wisconsin Reading Professors, Reading Specialists, Reading Teachers, an ELL Teacher, Preservice Teachers and Student Teachers. While the village wrote, preservice and practicing teachers (those that completed the FoRT) read the chapters, dropping their voices within the context of the writer's narrative.
